Some dogs are born to entertain they think they’re comedians and they’re usually right. The Morkie is one of these, a mixed breed that takes the fluff and sweetness of a Maltese and combines it with the verve and coloring of a Yorkshire terrier.
The Morkie has the luxurious long white coat inherited from the Maltese, but often features the black and brown colors characteristic of a Yorkie (they also come in the colors gray, blue, cream, white, fawn, gold/yellow, and brown/chocolate/liver). This striking combination is sure to turn heads when your pup is out on his walkies!
If you’re looking for a pup with big personality in a tiny package, the Morkie might be the breed for you. Like both of its parents, the Yorkshire terrier and the Maltese, these dogs have a lot of energy, which means they’ll love running and playing with you any time of day. They’ll probably be happy to zoom around your yard until you can’t take it anymore, but when it’s time to relax, Morkies are great cuddlers. These pups tend to be loyal and affectionate, just like their Maltese ancestors.
